Sami Jo Small – Local Hockey Star with 3 Olympic Medals and 5 World Championships
Sami Jo Small grew up in Winnipeg, MB. Her passion for the game was honed in the boys minor hockey system. As the only girl she was forced each and every day to prove that she belonged through hard work and determination. She accepted a scholarship to Stanford University for track and field to throw the discus and javelin. Hockey became her passion again as she played on the Stanford Men’s team even garnering PAC-10 MVP honours while earning her degree in mechanical engineering.
She accepted a spot on the 1998 Olympic Games team traveling to Nagano, Japan. She has since won five World Championships and has twice been named Championship MVP. She is a three time Olympian and has been a member of two Olympic Gold Medal Winning teams. Sami Jo currently works as a motivational speaker as well as an owner of a hockey school that runs throughout four provinces. She also recently helped start the Canadian Women’s Hockey League where she continues to play elite hockey for the Toronto Furies.
Big Daddy Tazz: Comedian & Bully Proofer
Often described as “one of the most talented comics in the business”, Tazz has been delighting crowds at fundraisers, corporate events, festivals and on television for almost twenty five years. Known as the Bi-Polar Buddha, Tazz is equal part comedian and motivator, who likes to enlighten, educate and inspire. With his newest endeavours “Stand Up Against Stigma” and “Big Daddy Tazz Running AMOK (Actively Motivating Our Kids)”, Tazz believes that it is time to educate, embrace and empower so that we can all stand tall and give stigma a bad name!

Amber Balcaen – Local Race Car Driver and the First Canadian Female to Win a Nascar Race
Amber Balcaen was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is a graduate of Red River College where she majored in Marketing. She is also the first Canadian female to win a NASCAR race. In 2012 she was the ALH Champion and in 2013 she became the first woman to win a dirt racing championship in Manitoba. She also won Sportsman of the Year at Red River SC with 11 feature wins. In 2014 she was the Northern Outlaw Racing Association’s Rookie of the Year and was in the top ten in points.
In 2016 she got her first win at Motor Mile, VA in NASCAR Whelen All American Series, stock cars making her the first Canadian female driver with a win in the NASCAR series. She also won the 2016 Rookie of the Year at Motor Mile Speedway, VA with 12 races in the top five, 1 win and 1 pole.
Amber is currently involved with the Ronald McDonald House of Manitoba and the Children’s Hospital of Manitoba. In 2017 she’s scheduled in the NASCAR K & N Pro Series East from February through to September. We have partnered with the Children's Hospital to pick a child who embodies the Little Rebels Spirit! They will have a featured pizza all of their own and we will be donating a portion of the proceeds from each one to the Children's Hospital.
